Every time he goes out, the little pink puppy gets confused for a human baby.

When Cleft Pup Brigade shared a picture of a 4-month-old French bulldog named Harold in August, foster mother Andrea felt obliged to adopt him. Andrea was prepared to go above and above for the tiny fellow, who was unlike other puppies in that he had pink, irritated skin and was completely hairless.

In a recent video, Andrea told the Dodo, “We fell in love with him the moment we saw him on their Instagram.” “I know that I can turn this puppy around,” I said.

Harold was welcomed home by Andrea, who became even more enamored with the puppy as she realized how much he had endured during his first few months.

“Harold was rescued from a serious case of neglect, so he doesn’t have hair, but he is not a hairless Frenchie,” Andrea explained. “That’s just a concentrated period of time for a small puppy to be in discomfort, from birth to the state he was in.”

Despite his dire circumstances, Harold was fortunate to find a foster family who were committed to taking care of him. They got him started on a skincare routine right away, which included three crucial stages.

Every other day, we gave him [medicated] baths, and he seemed really at ease in them. “He simply enjoys being warm,” Andrea remarked. Then, since lotion was going to promote hair growth, we would smother him with it. We would then cover him with sweaters or T-shirts to further absorb it.

The tough dog appreciated his warm sweaters and healing baths. Harold’s personality flourished and his skin rapidly improved as a result of his foster parents’ unwavering care.

Andrea remarked, “After a week or two, we noticed his peach fuzz growing back all over his body.” We saw right away after placing him in our foster care that he had an amazing personality. He almost seems to take pleasure in making others laugh.

Being cradled in his foster parents’ arms was Harold’s favorite thing more than making them laugh.

Andrea remarked, “He loves to be held.” “We would hold him very close to us and take him to many places.”

Harold would occasionally be confused for someone entirely different while he was out with his family.

People would remark things like, “I saw you sitting over there, and I thought you were holding a baby,” or “I thought you were holding a Sphynx cat,” when we had a diaper on him and he wasn’t completely potty trained.

The fact that he was merely a Frenchie recuperating from a challenging background usually astounded onlookers. Harold nevertheless made everyone he came into contact with happy, even his new permanent family.

Andrea stated, “We found the perfect family for him, and they already have a dog named Hippolita, who is a very beautiful bully breed. She and Harold were so sweet together and so playful at the meet-and-greet.” Harold has a puppy. He’s a rambunctious puppy, but she was very patient with him. We were certain that would be Harold’s ideal home.

Harold assimilated to his new family with ease, just as Andrea had predicted. Since then, he has been content with his life with them.

Although she is glad Harold has found a loving family for the rest of his life, Andrea misses having him around. Andrea is thankful to have been a part of his narrative, even though their time together was short.

“The reward is seeing a dog heal and thrive when you are able to just give all of this love and attention to a dog who really, really needs it,” Andrea stated. “To be a part of that is truly something very special.”
